Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Technology have demonstrated an advance in quantum error correction, achieving up to a 2.2-fold reduction in errors and extending the qubit’s useful lifetime by up to 1.5 times compared to an unencoded qubit.
