China’s Origin Wukong Quantum Computer Achieves World-First in Fine-Tuning A 1 Billion-Parameter AI Model
A team of scientists and engineers in Hefei, Anhui province, has achieved a world first by using China’s Origin Wukong quantum computer to fine-tune a billion-parameter AI model. This breakthrough demonstrates how quantum computing can enhance large language models (LLMs) by improving training efficiency and reducing parameter requirements, addressing concerns about the computational demands of advanced AI systems.
This accomplishment was made possible through collaboration between Origin Quantum, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, and other institutions utilising the Wukong chip-powered quantum computer to process complex tasks efficiently.
